The 2x on Amtrak and dining is simple, the welcome bonus is modest but easy to reach, and the card gives loyal riders a straightforward way to build up points for future trips.

For most readers, though, this is not the strongest everyday card. The rewards rate outside of Amtrak and dining is just 1x, and the added benefits are mostly general Mastercard partner offers rather than reasons to choose the card on their own.
