If you regularly spend with Diamond Resorts, this card can make sense as a simple companion card. The 2.25% back on Diamond Resorts purchases is better than its everyday earning, and the lack of foreign transaction fees is a useful extra if your travel takes you abroad. The 10% rebate on Diamond Flexibility points purchases may also help members who sometimes need to bridge a points shortfall for a reservation.

For most other spending, though, the card is hard to recommend as a primary wallet card. Earning 1% back everywhere else is easy to beat with many no-annual-fee cards, so its value is concentrated in a fairly narrow use case. If you are not an active Diamond Resorts customer, there is little here that would justify choosing it over a more flexible cash-back card.
