That translates to an effective return of 2.8% on travel bookings and just 1.4% on dining and entertainment, with all other purchases earning less than 1% back.

Unless you spend thousands of dollars on Expedia every year and specifically want all your points tied to the platform, a standard cash-back card or a flexible travel rewards card will deliver higher returns and far greater redemption flexibility.
