The myWalgreens Mastercard is worth a look if you already spend regularly at Walgreens or Duane Reade and like the idea of earning elevated cash back on health-focused everyday categories. With no annual fee, there is little downside to carrying it for drugstore runs, some grocery purchases, gym memberships, and certain healthcare expenses.

For most readers, though, this is not the card to build your wallet around. The bonus categories are somewhat narrow, there is no welcome bonus, and 1% back everywhere else is easy to beat. If your spending lines up well with its categories, it can be a useful secondary card. If you want one simple card for broad everyday use, a stronger flat-rate cash back card will usually make more sense.
