If you buy from Old Navy often, Navyist is easy to justify. The card earns a strong 6% back in points at Old Navy, and with no annual fee there is little downside to keeping it for those purchases. For someone already spending heavily at the brand, that return is the real reason to carry the card.

Outside the Gap family of brands, the card is much less compelling. Its 1.2% back everywhere rate is usable, but it is below what many no-annual-fee cash back cards offer on general spending. That makes Navyist a solid companion card for committed shoppers, but a weak choice as your main card.
