This card is built for someone who spends heavily on gas and regularly buys groceries, especially if they do not want to pay an annual fee. It works best as a focused rewards card for everyday essentials rather than as a do-everything card.

Overview
Gas station purchases
Supermarket spending
No-fee everyday rewards
The Shop Your Way Mastercard® is worth a look if gas is one of your biggest monthly expenses and you want solid grocery rewards alongside it. A no-annual-fee card that earns 5% on gas and 3% on groceries can be useful for households with a lot of driving, commuting, or family errand spending. The welcome offer is modest, but the ongoing rewards are the main reason to carry it.
The tradeoff is flexibility. Rewards are earned in Sears points, so the value of this card depends on whether you are comfortable using that rewards currency. It is also not a strong fit as your only card, since purchases outside gas, groceries, and Sears earn just 1%. For the right spender it can be a practical category card, but most people will want to pair it with a stronger everyday card for everything else.

This card makes the most sense for drivers and households that spend a lot on gas and groceries and want to avoid an annual fee. Its biggest limitation is that the rewards currency is narrower and less flexible than standard cash back.

Earning
The value here comes from a simple category structure: elevated rewards at gas stations, decent returns on groceries, and 1% elsewhere. The key question is not just how much you spend, but whether earning Sears points fits how you actually redeem rewards.
