U.S. Bank Altitude® Go

The U.S. Bank Altitude® Go is built for people who spend heavily on dining and want a no-annual-fee card that rewards that habit without asking for much else. It works best as a focused everyday card for restaurant spending, with a few useful 2x categories that can also cover parts of your regular budget.

Overview

Is the U.S. Bank Altitude® Go worth it?

This card is great for...

Restaurant spending

Groceries and gas

No-fee everyday rewards

Yes, if dining is one of your biggest spending categories. Earning 4x points at restaurants on a $0 annual fee card is the main reason to carry the Altitude Go, and the extra 2x on groceries, gas, streaming, and EV charging gives it more day-to-day usefulness than a card that only shines at restaurants.

The tradeoff is that this is mostly a rewards play, not a perks card. There is no annual fee to offset, but there also are no listed statement credits, travel benefits, or other extras doing heavy lifting. If you want simple cash-value rewards and spend a lot on food, it is a strong fit. If you want premium benefits or a higher return on all non-bonus spending, you will likely want to pair it with another card or look elsewhere.

MaxRewards Verdict

The Altitude Go makes the most sense for someone who wants to earn more on dining without paying an annual fee. Its biggest limitation is simple: outside its bonus categories, it is an ordinary 1x card with very few extras.

Earning

Rewards

This card earns U.S. Bank Altitude points, and here they are valued like cash back at 1 cent each. The rewards story is straightforward: dining does the heavy lifting, while gas, groceries, streaming, and EV charging add some useful support for everyday spending.
