Instacart Master

This card is built for regular Instacart users who want a simple way to earn more on grocery delivery without paying an annual fee. It works best as a specialist card for Instacart orders and a few everyday categories, not as a primary card for all spending.

Overview

Is the Instacart Master worth it?

This card is great for...

Instacart grocery orders

Dining, gas, and streaming spend

No-fee backup travel card

If you order through Instacart often, this card is easy to like. The 5% back on Instacart is the clear reason to carry it, and the $0 annual fee means you do not need to squeeze extra value from credits or premium perks to justify keeping it. The 2% categories on dining, gas, and streaming add a little extra usefulness, and 5% on travel booked through Chase Travel can be helpful if you already use that portal.

For most readers, though, this is not the card to use everywhere. Outside its bonus categories, it earns just 1%, and the rewards are tied to Instacart points rather than a more flexible cash back or travel points program. That makes it a good fit for households that already spend consistently with Instacart, but a limited choice if your goal is one card for broad everyday spending.

MaxRewards Verdict

This card makes the most sense for someone who uses Instacart regularly and wants no-fee rewards tied to that habit. If Instacart is only occasional for you, the card's narrow rewards value will likely leave it on the sidelines.

Rewards

The rewards setup is straightforward: the card leans heavily into Instacart purchases, with a few solid everyday bonus categories and standard 1% back elsewhere. Think of it as a card that rewards a specific shopping pattern rather than a general-purpose earner.
