Starbucks® Rewards Visa®

This card is built for regular Starbucks customers who spend enough in the app or in stores to care more about Stars than flexible rewards. It works best as a specialist card for loyal coffee buyers, not as an everyday card for most of your spending.

Stars over cash back

For someone who buys Starbucks often and actually redeems Stars for drinks, food, or merchandise, the Starbucks Rewards Visa can make sense. The card earns strongly at Starbucks, and the welcome offer has real value if you already spend there. If your routine includes several Starbucks purchases a week, that extra earning can add up faster than it would on a general rewards card.

The harder part is the $49 annual fee. Outside Starbucks, the rewards rates are very limited, and even the bonus categories at grocery stores, transit, and telecommunications are modest. Most readers will get better long-term value from a no-annual-fee cash back card and simply pay for Starbucks separately. This card is worth it for committed Starbucks fans who want to build Stars faster and stay engaged with the brand, but it is a narrow fit.

MaxRewards

MaxRewards Verdict

A solid fit for loyal Starbucks customers who spend heavily with the brand and want to earn Stars faster. For anyone looking for a primary rewards card, the annual fee and weak non-Starbucks earnings make it hard to recommend.

Rewards

This card earns Starbucks Stars, not cash back or flexible travel points, so the value depends on how often you redeem within the Starbucks ecosystem. The rewards story is simple: strong returns at Starbucks, then a sharp drop-off on almost everything else.

Purchase Protection

Covers your new purchases for 120 days against damage or theft up to $500 per claim and $50,000 per account.
